Lao girl

sleepy eyed

still stunned by the catastrophe of awakening.

Last night's beer

demands Sprite,

icy and efforvescent

then Liptons tea.

Poached eggs and bacon.

Hold the baguette,

toast bread please.

Total incomprehension

dawns in her eyes.

No baguette,

toast bread.

She nods and leaves.

Actually the baguette

was very nice.
