Passing By

We meet many people on our journeys,
we quickly part from them
with barely 'good bye'
and never see them again.

I meditate on this for awhile.

I come to this conclusion:

If we were fully aware
of the shortness
of the fleeting meeting
that we have with many
we should try to do them good,
give them a friendly smile in passing
and show that we have sympathy.

It can be done so easily
with a kindly greeting
and looks and a smile.

I will test myself.
