An Indonesian woman in Aceh
was saved by a snake.
She told her strange tale:
She'd watched horrified
a giant wave sweeping into the village,
felt it destroying her home.
The water did carry
her out of her house
and dragged her towards
her badly injured neighbor
who was struggling very hard
to hold on
to her nine-year old twins.
~ Please save my twins,
just let me go,
as long as they're safe. ~
She was able to grab
and place on her back
two terrified youngsters.
As she struggled and fought
through the torrent of water
she saw a huge snake,
big as a telephone pole.
It was gliding along,
close enough to touch.
'I felt no fear', the woman said.
She grabbed and held onto
the tail of the huge snake
and wouldn't let go
until she'd reached… safety.
