I feel a particular ecstasy.
The sun plays on the mountains
behind me across the road.
Then happens a quick,
vanishing dusk
and night rushes in.
I feel I have been set free;
the sunset, the warm scents,
fishing boats with neon lights
out in the sea -
all require me to take stock
and rejoice.
I rest my bare feet
on my balcony wall,
drink homemade iced tea
and thoroughly enjoy
the fading of another
beautiful day
in my chosen paradise
on the beach by the sea.
