~ my life ahead of me ~
I had to choose
a path to take.
Two paths diverged
in opposite direction.
One was known to me,
safe and secure;
a stable life ahead.
I chose the one
unknown to me,
full of adventures
and adversities.
That path eventually led me
to where I am today;
retired, financially secure,
but, most importantly,
living as a free spirit in Paradise.
I sometimes wonder
how my life would be today
if I had chosen
the safe and secure path.
One thing is certain:
My spirit would have been
subdued into conformity.
That thought makes me sad.
