Thai Gold - Chapter 1
Jason Schoonover, March 13, 2013
A Hiroshima-Class thunderclap directly overhead propelled me through the door of The Lion’s Den and out of one of Bangkok’s late-monsoon cloudbursts. The conditioned air inside immediately chilled my clinging clothes and made me shudder. Water dripped off the brim of my hat. I yanked it off, shook it dry, and squinted through my hangover into the darkness of the small bar.

Murder at the Horny Toad Bar - Chapter 4
Dean Barrett, December 21, 2011
The next day dawned bright and sunny. Except for the thick clouds and persistent rain. I stopped the tuk tuk on the half-shabby, half-upmarket Sukhumvith Road soi, ignored the come-hither looks of the male and female rambutan sellers, waded through puddles of dark, smelly water and entered the gleaming office tower.

Murder at the Horny Toad Bar - Chapter 3
Dean Barrett, December 18, 2011
I struggled against the gusting wind and driving rain to reenter the back room of the bar. I sat back down in my chair and wiped water from my face with what I hoped was a clean towel Good Pork Betty had placed out for me. The 'Fuck You' lizard on the wall said, "Fuck You!" Betty was still quietly sobbing, her purplish red beetle-nut lips quivering.

Murder at the Horny Toad Bar - Chapter 2
Dean Barrett, December 15, 2011
I had never known Lek to be afraid of anything. Yet the fear in her voice over the phone had come across loud and clear. Whatever had happened at the Horny Toad had scared the bejesus out of her. Thanks to the sky train it didn't take me long to arrive at the Horny Toad Station.

It all started with that phone call. I wish now I had never answered it. But I did. And right away I could tell something was wrong from the tremor in the voice on the phone. "You're tremoring," I said.
