Darn it, Chuck. Now I am intrigued, and I'll have to somehow figure out how to pronounce this frog's name so I can buy his book at the nearest Barnes and noble shop and not sound like a twit when I ask the clerk. Thanks, I can see I am going to enjoy these book reviews.

I should have said, for the benefit of anyone who's interested in Mr. Wellbeck, the books are best read in order.

'Elementary Particles' contains a lot of personal stuff and is a good introduction to his basic philosophy. 'Platform' is about sex-tourism and has a lot of Bangkok stuff in it. 'Possibility of an Island' is mostly his response to literary success I think. There is a distinct progression there but like I say he does seem a bit worn out.

Thanks Chuck, I'll see if I can pick these up in paperback for my return to Thailand shortly. Always good to know if an author should be read in a certain order for better understanding of where they are coming from. I look forward to seeing some more book reviews and recommendations from you. And stories as well.
