We broke the 4,000 barrier yesterday with (y)our comments. Great work!
We are also rapidly approaching 1,500 stories & articles on the site.
July 20, 2008
Due to the large amount of spam we've been getting lately in comments on stories (we've been deleting them manually so as not to annoy you with them), we've had to turn the image verification feature on for comments. We're sorry for the extra field to be required to be filled out, but deleting some 300 spam comments after a few days absence is getting ridiculous.
June 25, 2008
Time for some figures. Last week we broke 3,000 comments on the stories, and today we've reached the 500,000 story reads mark. Onwards to the million :)
May 28, 2008
Due to the fact that many readers living in and visiting Thailand also have an interest in the South-East Asia area, we have included a new category on Thailand Stories titled: ‚€˜Stories from Around SEA‚€™. This new category is open for submission for stories set in or about countries in South-East Asia, excluding Thailand. We hope this new category will be something you all will enjoy for its extra reading material on subjects about the SEA area.
April 17, 2008
Over 2,500 comments have been made on the stories posted on this site. We are sure this is much appreciated by the authors, so please, keep them coming.

Just a quick note to say that the stories on this site have now been read over 250,000 times!
September 28, 2007
There have been some problems adding articles in the last few days, and it seems that it may be related to copying-pasting from the new Word for Windows Vista. We are looking into it, but in the meantime could you avoid using Word for Vista?
August 19, 2007
1,500 comments! That's right, the stories have received a combined 1,500 comments.
July 29, 2007
We've upgraded the editor for entering stories to the latest version. Hopefully this will fix the problems sometimes occurring when importing stories from Word.
July 7, 2007
The stories on the site have been read a combined 200,000 times.
The code allowing you to set how many stories are shown on the front page has been completed. The value you choose is now kept between visits to the site.
June 10, 2007
In addition to being able to comment on the stories here (which is still the prefered method), two other avenues have sprung up in the form of a forum on Schoochers.com as well as a forum on the newly established 'The HoltBlog Forum'.
The appearance of these forums (fora?) do beg the question whether or not we should add one here. Thoughts are welcome.
May 20, 2007
We've added a bunch more links to sites we feel might be of interest to you, our readers. You can check out the list here.
May 13, 2007
We've implemented the first stage of the feature allowing you to change the number of stories displayed on the home page. It is possible to change the amount now using the pull down box to the right of Latest Stories, but this value is not yet kept. We're hoping to get that functionality implemented within the next couple of days.
May 9, 2007
Well, that was a bit unexpected :)
Turning on the rating system has caused quite a stir and quite a bit of feedback, all of it against using a rating system. Since our main purpose is to provide a place for writers and readers that suits their needs we have taken this feedback to heart and the rating system has been turned off again.
May 8, 2007
750 stories! That's right, we broke the next milestone with regards to the amount of stories on the site. Onwards to 1,000.

The comments feature seems to be quite popular seeing that the number of comments on the stories has exceeded 1,000.
Keep them coming please as we are certain the authors appreciate the feedback.
March 31, 2007
The server move has been succesfull and the outage problems should now be a thing of the past.
Oh, btw, we're only 1 story short of 700, and it - and a couple dozen others - is already lined up to be published soon.
February 13, 2007
Looks like we totally forgot our anniversary (luckily neither of us is female, so nobody got upset :) ) which was February 5th. The year has gone quite quickly and rather well for us as the latest figures show: 64 writers who wrote a combined 614 stories (with another 49 in the pipeline) which were read 120,000+ times and commented upon 718 times.
Our intention is to at least double - and preferably triple - those numbers this year and with your continued support I am certain we'll be able to do so.
February 5, 2007
In an effort to help prevent spam, we have removed the display of email addresses with the comments. The requirement to add an email address when posting a comment has also been removed.
January 2, 2007
As the amount and frequency of comments has increased quite a bit they disappear of the front page much quicker than before. To allow people to still keep track of the latest comments without checking the site 2-3 times a day we have added a Latest Comments page which lists the last 30 comments added to the site.
A start has also been made on allowing authors to add a biography to their profile pages. The biographies can be displayed, but at the moment authors cannot edit these themselves. Those authors wishing to add a biography, please send them to us by email.
December 31, 2006

Each story has a box at the top right in which you can increase / decrease the font size. Please let us know if you would prefer even larger or smaller fonts and we'll update the script to accommodate.

A new sub-category, Mystery, has added under the Fiction category as with the arrival of Dean Barrett's murder mystery story (which started today and will appear on this site over the next 3 weeks, every Sunday and Thursday) it made sense to move the Mystery stories in a sub-category of their own.
